7 Seasons Short Documentary

Here is the trailer for our doco that celebrates Indigenous knowledge and the young people at the forefront of climate action such as its director Clancy Lester. The doco aims to restore our connection to nature, and our connection to each other delving into the climate crisis in Melbourne, spotlighting the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung wisdom through incredible videography by Max Shannon in his first commercial project.

    Meet the Team

    Clancy Lester

    Clancy is the films director and the man behind @BeesandBlossom.Aus. He is passionate about nature and understanding how traditional owners understood the land.

    Max Shannon

    Max is the videographer and editing talent behind the film, pulling everything together to make the doco happen.


    He is from Yorta Yorta C\country with a degree in Film, Tv and Animation from Deakin University.

    Kai Lane

     Kai is a proud Yorta-Yorta Barapa-Barapa man, with connections to Dja Dja Wurrung and Wurundjeri, who is passionate about his culture and loves to share his knowledge. Growing up near the Murray River he now lives in Geelong working in the ecology and restoration field at Ecology & Restoration Australia as a trainee ecologist and Traditional owner representative.


    Kai has a variety of experience in field flora and fauna surveys, including targeted surveys for threatened plants, spotlighting for greater gliders, call playback surveys for owls, artificial hollow checks, boat electrofishing surveys, and waterbird surveys.


    Kai also co-leads ERA’s ‘Habitat Warriors’ initiative, delivers curriculum based community projects to schools and other community groups, including cultural knowledge sessions and hands on conservation workshops. Kai is super passionate about teaching how traditional ecological knowledge can enhance scientific research.


    Kai is also Vice president to Eco Warriors Australia which is a non for profit that focuses on empowering individuals and groups to come together, take action and strengthen our natural ecosystems through hands-on restoration and education initiatives with a strong focus on indigenous led projects with over 60% of the board being Traditional Owners.

    Ky-ya Nicholson

    Ky-ya is a 22 year old Wurundjeri, Dja Dja Wurrung, and Ngurai illum Wurrung woman, artist and activist.


    Ky-ya is the epitome of a leader of the future who isn’t waiting around for the future for come, and is being a Staunch activist and storyteller right now!

    She also uses her art @djirringu.art to educate and to advocate political issues around the world, as well as being a dancer with Djirri Djirri Cultural Services 

    Linden Ashcroft

    Linden grew up on Yorta Yorta, and teaches weather and climate science as well as science communication at the University of Melbourne.

    Dr Kit Prendergast

     Kit is one of the most passionate and prolific scientists that Australia has to offer in the conservation space!

    You might have seen/heard from Dr Kit on any one of her podcasts, news articles, radio interviews where she will fight tooth and nail to get people to know, love and care about Australia’s Beautiful native bees and other insects.

    We are pumped to have Dr Kit chime in about the trends we are seeing with our pollinators, the threats they face and how it’s all linked to our changing climate.
